SUMMARY:
A wildlife sanctuary in the Barberton region is seeking an experienced and passionate Field Guide to join the team.
This live-in position is ideal for a dedicated guiding professional with a genuine passion for wildlife, conservation, and guest interaction. The successful candidate will deliver exceptional game drive experiences while assisting with the day-to-day operation and upkeep of the lodge. A hands-on attitude and willingness to assist wherever required are essential.

POSITION INFO:
REQUIREMENT: RSA ID and legal residence essential Minimum 5 years' experience as a Field Guide within a 5-Star lodge or similar environment essential Valid Driver's License and PDP essential FGASA qualification preferred Excellent command of English essential Afrikaans and additional languages advantageous Strong guest hosting and communication skills Passion for wildlife, conservation, and guest experiences Ability to work independently and as part of a team Hands-on approach with a willingness to assist across departments Professional presentation and positive attitude This is a live-in position suitable for a single candidate KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Welcome guests on arrival and assist with check-ins and indemnity procedures Conduct informative and engaging game drives and guided activities Deliver exceptional guest hosting and interpretive guiding experiences Ensure the safety and enjoyment of guests during all activities Share knowledge of wildlife, birdlife, flora, and the surrounding environment Assist with the maintenance and upkeep of lodge facilities when required Maintain guiding vehicles, equipment, and operational areas Support other departments and assist wherever operationally required Uphold the highest standards of guest service, safety, and professionalism PACKAGE: R7,000 - R9,000 per month (Negotiable DOE) Live-in accommodation provided LOCATION: Barberton - Mpumalanga - Wildlife Sanctuary
