Field Research Agronomist

SUMMARY:
My client is seeking a Field Research Agronomist to be responsible for planning, tracking and development of protocols and data generation from value proposition and product demonstration trials. FRA works closely with Market Development Agronomist and Representative, Field trialing, Sales, Go to Market (GtM) managers and Analytics teams to ensure clear execution of business priorities. This includes Integrated Knowledge transfer and support of key business drivers for all facets of the country including Seed, Trait, Biologicals and Crop Protection products for Mozambique. This is a 1 year contract.

Qualifications and competencies:

• MSc degree in Ag/Life Sciences or related discipline or BSc Degree with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in agricultural research.
• Superior understanding of crop production, which includes relevant crops for the country
• Integrates and incorporates new products into agronomic systems.
• Implement research protocols to meet business needs. 
• Collects and analyzes data. Draws inferences from analysis and presents recommendations to GtM team.
• Experience with digital data collection and analytics tools.
• Good communication skills and working in cross function teams
• Demonstrated ability to function effectively without direct supervision, ability to work effectively with a team

• Responsible for the execution of the design protocols, and data collection processes, working closely with Data Scientists and Analytics teams to ensure data accuracy.
• Responsible for the Implementation of field protocols including treatments, site assignments and data collection.
• Close monitoring of the data generating demo’s, to ensure adherence to best agronomic practices, demo objective and collection of quality data
• Manage data using internal database systems and prepare summaries to meet business needs and packages to support solutions and positioning as required.
• Support the stewardship and adherence to company polices ensuring all products are used as per the Safe Use Guideline and in correct rates.
•  Support the value proposition development of customized agronomic solutions for the key crops.
• Training internal teams on demo and value proposition best practices, data capture/ collection, data interpretation and value communication.
• Support the development and management of consistent and integrated product development strategies and systems.
• Responsible for the development and tracking all data generating demonstration trials and value proposition trials through reports, in close collaboration with Regional Sales managers
• Responsible for keeping up to date with the latest digital technologies to improve the efficiency of data collection and quality of trial data.
