SUMMARY:
A dynamic opportunity exists for a qualified and commercially minded Finance Business Partner to join a high-performing team. The successful candidate will play a key role in translating financial insights into strategic decisions, supporting performance delivery, and ensuring strong financial governance across the business.

POSITION INFO:

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee and manage core accounting operations, including:
- Reviewing journals and ensuring accuracy of entries
- Assessing management accounts for completeness, submitting review notes, and signing off income statement and balance sheet accounts
- Monitoring reconciliations, resolving discrepancies and reconciling items
- Ensuring subledger systems align with the general ledger
Prepare monthly financial packs with detailed commentary and present insights on profitability to business and regional leadership
Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes
Coordinate and support year-end audit activities
Collaborate with senior finance leadership on ad hoc tasks and strategic projects
Contribute to the successful implementation of IFRS 17
Develop and lead a high-performing finance team through coaching, training, and performance management
Strengthen internal controls and work closely with internal auditors to address findings within agreed timelines
Maintain up-to-date documentation of accounting policies and procedures
Build and sustain strong relationships with operational and strategic stakeholders

Experience & Competencies Required:

5–6 years’ post-articles experience in financial reporting within a commercial financial services environment
3–5 years of proven people leadership experience
Experience in the insurance industry is essential (non-negotiable)
Proficient in accounting systems and budgeting tools
Strong commercial awareness and broad business understanding
Deep technical knowledge of financial accounting and international accounting standards

Minimum Qualifications:

Chartered Accountant – CA(SA) qualification (non-negotiable)
