The Role: Finance Controller
As the Finance Controller, you will lead the full finance function across all business entities, driving accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in financial operations. You will be a trusted strategic partner to the CFO, responsible for reporting, budgeting, audits, and team leadership. This is a hands-on leadership role for a commercially astute finance professional ready to make an impact in a fast-paced, remote working environment aligned to US time zones.
Key Responsibilities

Minimum 7 years experience in finance/accounting, including 3+ years in a leadership role

Lead, mentor, and manage a remote accounting team across AP, AR, payroll, and GL functions

Prepare and deliver accurate financial statements (monthly, quarterly, annually)

Oversee compliance, audits, tax filings, and maintain robust internal controls

Manage budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning

Monitor cash flow and capital needs to support business growth

Provide financial analysis and modeling to support strategic decisions

Support M&A, due diligence, and post-acquisition integration

Identify financial risks, drive cost-efficiencies, and improve operational processes
About You

Minimum 7 years'' finance experience, with 3+ years in a senior or leadership role

CPA qualified (essential), with a Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, or similar

Deep knowledge of US GAAP and regulatory compliance

Experience with financial planning, analysis, reporting, and team leadership

Strong ERP experience (e.g., Sage, NetSuite) and advanced Excel proficiency

Experience in the construction or utilities sector preferred

Clear communicator who can simplify financial insights for non-finance stakeholders
