SUMMARY:
Finance Manager_Qualified CA preferably with MBA (or similar) required for Global Engineering Client situated on the East Rand to guide the development of the finance function, taking responsibility for all financial activities with key focus on driving efficiency and profitability with 4 direct reports.

POSITION INFO:

Overview:

Our specialized, global Engineering client requires an astute Finance Manager to participate in the development of the finance function and the company. The function is located at the office in Johannesburg (East Rand) and will report to the Managing Director. The Finance Manager will oversee the duties of four employees in the department.

Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for all financial activities within the South African company and you will work closely together with the Managing Director to focus on efficiency and profitability. You will also work together with local functions at various companies and with the colleagues at the Group finance department.

Major Role Responsibilities:

Monthly-, tertial- and Year End closings and reports.
Budgets and Forecasts
Reporting, analysis and follow-up
Intercompany reconciliation
Consolidation of the South African companies
Audit and Annual Report
Tax declarations
VAT- and tax issues
Accounting and book-keeping
Reconcile and maintain balance sheet accounts
Administer accounts receivables and accounts payables
Review and process timesheets, travel- and other expenses
Assist with payroll administration
General administration duties

Background and Qualifications:

We are looking a Qualified Chartered Accountant with a Master of Science in Business Administration degree or similar with at least 5 years’ experience in a similar role. A highly valued qualification is if you have worked with project financials. You should also have some knowledge of Group Accounting. You have a very good knowledge of working in Excel and ERP-systems. Excellent knowledge in English is a required.

You are a curious, problem-solving, flexible and experienced person. You are ambitious and structured, like challenges and you never miss a deadline. You take on assignments with authority and with an open mind. You also need to be analytical and accurate and have good communication skills since the work requires both ability to focus on details and a high level.
