POSITION INFO:

Exciting opportunity to join a SA / USA tech start-up business, experiencing massive growth! Great collaborative, innovative, high-performance and action-taking culture. Role is responsible for more than financial management and finance operations, but also includes BI reporting and analysis, exposure to cross-border intercompany transactions, capital raising, and finance projects.  Newly created role due to growth. Reports to their Head of Finance Operations.

Role available fully remote within SA.

Responsibilities: 

• Preparation of monthly management accounts
• Prepare financial forecasts, control income, cash flow and expenditure and scenario modelling
• Manage finance operations in the business including invoicing, payroll and other transactions
• Preparation of ad hoc financial reports
• Set up processes and controls
• Work with external providers such as tax preparation and auditing
• Monitor and track financial performance
• Prepare company performance reports
• Provide commercial support, working with legal on all company contracts, ensuring risks are mitigated and from a commercial perspective
• Responsible for driving optimisation of the commercial system set up, driving initiatives to reduce overdue AR, maintain records and trackers of suppliers etc.
• Assist with preparation of weekly strategy meetings, updating company policies
• Assisting with auditing of their new tool offering, ensuring cost control etc.
• Manage company assets, managing operational aspects of data and info

Requirements:

• Minimum of CA(SA) qualified, with stellar track record and big 4 articles
• Minimum of 2 years'' post articles experience
• Good knowledge of IFRS essential and US GAAP knowledge, will be added advantage
• Any BI /data experience, or working closely with BI would be an advantage as well as any experience gained working in an international team, SARB approvals, cross-border, intercompany transactions etc.
• Analytical thinker, with good commercial acumen and technically strong
• Ability to work well in a start-up environment with multiple projects
• Self-starter, with strong communication and presentation skills
• Experience with SaaS or e-commerce or similar would be an advantage
