SUMMARY:
A client in Secunda is looking for a Finance Manager to occupy a 6 months contract to be responsible for the overall financial management of the organisation and will work in close collaboration with the Financial Director to ensure that both tactical and strategic imperatives are met. An astute, resilient and experienced individual is essential for ensuring success in the role. The candidate must be detail oriented and have experience in the implementation of processes and systems.

POSITION INFO:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
● Provide financial reports and interpret financial information to managerial staff while recommending further courses of action.
● Advise on investment activities and provide strategies that the company should take
● Maintain the financial health of the organization.
● Analyze costs, pricing, variable contributions, sales results and the company’s actual performance compared to the business plans.
● Develop trends and projections for the firm’s finances.
● Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities.
● Oversee operations of the finance department, set goals and objectives, and design a framework for these to be met.
● Manage the preparation of the company’s budget.
● Liaise with auditors to ensure appropriate monitoring of company finances is maintained.
● Correspond with various other departments, discussing company plans and agreeing on future paths to be taken.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS
Educational requirements
● Matric certificate and a Degree in Finance, Accounting
● Professional qualification such as CA/CIMA or similar will be considered a plus
● Proven experience as a Financial Manager
● Experience in the financial sector with previous possible roles such as financial manager
● Extensive understanding of financial trends both within the company and general market patterns
● Proficient user of finance software (Navision & SAP)
● Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
● Able to manage, guide and lead employees to ensure appropriate financial processes are being used
● A solid understanding of financial statistics and accounting principles
● Working knowledge of all statutory legislation and regulations

Experience
● Min 7 Years post articles experience working experience in a related field

Knowledge and Know-how specific to the job
● CA (SA) / CIMA / Proven track record in a similar industry
● Navision Dynamics & SAP will be a benefit
● Experience in startup environments will be a benefit
● Financial process design & implementation experience
● Experience with external audit process management

WORKING CONDITIONS
Standard office working conditions. No travel required. Overtime when needed
