SUMMARY:
Finance Manager - Insurance Industry

POSITION INFO:
We are looking for a Finance Manager for a company in the Financial Services Industry.

The Finance Manager’s role is to oversee the accounting function, financial management, compliance, reporting and legal matters.

Responsibilities

Own ultimate responsibility for the Company''s finance function.
Day-to-day accounting and financial management.
Prepare the financial statements to the management, the Board of Directors and regulatory agencies.
Ownership of the budget, forecasting, cash flow planning and estimates.
Monitor performance against budget (expense controls, variances, etc.)
Provide analysis of results and reporting key metrics while advising the management on risks and opportunities, as well as recommending actions.
Provide financial analysis and insights in support of business decision making needs.
Provide authoritative counsel on proper accounting principles, procedures, systems, and controlling practices making recommendations for improvements.
Oversee the annual audit process.
Develop and implement Financial Controls, Policies and Procedures and Promote good Corporate Governance.
Detect and prevent fraud.
Compliance with all Legislative Requirements, such as FSCA compliance, Prudential Authority compliance, IFRS, the King Code of Good Corporate Governance, as well as all applicable tax regimes.
Responsible for the continuous implementation, monitoring and reporting on the state of the group’s compliance.

Skills and Expertise

Proficient user of finance software.
Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
Able to manage, guide and lead employees to ensure appropriate financial processes are being used.
A solid understanding of financial statistics and accounting principles.
Working knowledge of all statutory legislation and regulations.
Planning accuracy.

Qualifications & Experience

CA(SA)
5+ years of post-articles experience as a Financial Manager in the Insurance Industry
