JOB SUMMARY:
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Finance Programme Manager to join a dynamic team.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Finance Project Manager reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer and is a critical member of his Finance Leadership Team (FLT). The FPM will play a key role partnering the Chief Financial Officer as to transform the overall finance function into one which is capable of operating within a public market's environment.
The FPM is responsible for planning and managing the finance projects schedule by constantly evaluating the department’s overall performance and progress to deliver on its objectives across: Systems, Processes, Controls, Financial Reporting, Management Reporting, Audit process planning and coordination, Coordination of global banking relationship sourcing, etc. They will be responsible for stakeholder engagement across various departments and countries and will. develop project plans specifying goals, strategy, staffing, scheduling, identification of risks, contingency plans and allocation of available resources. The FPM will ensure optimisation and usage of diverse systems and applications, informed by functional expectations and industry standards. The Finance Project Manager will be a senior specialist in our finance department and must contribute to the department strategy and facilitate execution of finance projects through project teams, enabling the department to achieve its mandate.

Duties and Responsibilities (Include but is not limited to):
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for finance on relevant aspects of project management.
  • Compile the required project plans related to a specific project which includes the work breakdown structure
  • Ensure the project plans include targets and measures, resource requirements and planned activities
  • Assist with clarifying business requirements on projects to ensure that requirements are correctly documented and implemented
  • Manage the projects in line with the specified project plan
  • Provide guidance and direction to project team members during the project
  • Coordinate the project team’s activities
  • Track the progress of all tasks related to the projects daily
  • Identify any areas that are running behind schedule and address with the relevant stakeholder
  • Identify where additional support or assistance may be required to ensure project timelines are met.
  • Liaise with external parties and coordinate external integration
  • Provide frequent updates to the project stakeholders regarding progress
  • Ensure feedback tools are used by all stakeholders to identify problems proactively
  • Communicate information related to finance projects as and when required.
  • Hold feedback meetings as and when required
  • Analyse exception and deviation reports and provide recommendations for achievement of the monthly, quarterly, and annual finance objectives.
  • Identify risks and issues that could impact the delivery of project outcomes
  • Identify the corrective action when required.
  • Adjust the project and audit plans when required to ensure issues are addressed appropriately
  • Obtain approval from the relevant stakeholders if the change requires change in project scope
  • Resolve queries regarding project implementation
  • Liaise with the project teams to identify the impact of queries on the project and actions required
  • Provide support to the team to ensure project queries are resolved
  • Provide weekly status reports on all projects
  • Report on issues encountered and completed activities
  • Provide finance department leadership team with monthly project reports.
  • Monitor overall finance team performance and progress in achieving strategic objectives.
  • Oversee the process of team KPI setting and tracking.
  • Attend monthly and bi-annual performance meetings
  • Action assigned projects.
  • Attend all required training courses for compliance
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders (including Finance Systems Manager) to source appropriate systems for the Finance department
  • Liaise with service providers of the digital finance tools to ensure all the necessary support from the service providers to maximise usage of the tools.
  • Monitor and continuously analyse finance processes to identify areas for process enhancements.
  • Drive complete implementation and integration of current systems for maximum utilisation. (i.e Netsuite system, Planful system, etc.)
  • Oversee and manage system controls and enable automation for effective finance processes

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree or Advanced Diploma
  • Commerce, Auditing, Finance, Accounting
  • License, Certificate, Registration Required (Relevant certifications & Professional memberships)
  • PMP (desirable)
  • Finance project management 6yrs plus
  • Project management of finance system implementation 6yrs plus
  • Fintech and/or Financial Services experience 6yrs plus
