As a Financial Accountant, you will oversee financial reporting, treasury operations, and taxation. This role offers hands-on exposure to financial management while ensuring compliance with statutory regulations and best practices. You will play a pivotal role in cash flow forecasting, tax submissions, and financial controls, making this a career-defining opportunity in a structured and high-performing finance team.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage cashbook processing, payments, and bank reconciliations.
• Oversee daily, monthly, and annual cash flow forecasting.
• Administer the Coupa treasury system and ensure efficient treasury operations.
• Handle hedge accounting and foreign payments.
• Process general ledger journals and month-end close-off.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis.
• Ensure accurate financial reporting and resolve process breakdowns.
• Manage VAT reconciliations and tax returns (VAT201, EMP201, Provisional Tax).
• Respond to SARS queries and stay up to date with tax regulations.
• Maintain fixed asset and tax asset registers, including depreciation management.
• Coordinate capital expenditure and ensure compliance.
• Supervise the invoicing clerk and provide backup support when required.
• Assist with ad hoc financial projects and reporting requirements.

Requirements:

• B.Com Accounting Degree (essential) with completed articles (advantageous).
• 5 years of experience in a similar role, ideally in manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of financial management, taxation, and treasury operations.
• Proficiency in financial tools and systems (e.g., Coupa treasury system).
