An established luxury lodge and boutique hotel group operating across Southern Africa is seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Financial Accountant to join their Johannesburg-based head office. This group manages award-winning lodges and iconic safari properties with strong international appeal.
In this role, you will ensure fiscal responsibility, compliance, and financial excellence, directly supporting the growth and success of exclusive hospitality properties.

The Role

POSITION INFO:

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain meticulous financial records and ensure transactional accuracy
• Compile and interpret monthly management reports, balance sheets, and income statements
• Assist in creating and managing annual budgets and rolling forecasts
• Ensure tax compliance and manage submission of statutory returns
• Liaise with external auditors and ensure full audit readiness
• Analyse financial performance and recommend improvements
• Mitigate financial risks and ensure adherence to company policies
• Support strategic financial planning and decision-making processes
• Communicate financial insights to non-financial stakeholders

Minimum Requirements

• Matric and relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance (Diploma or Degree)
• 4–5 years’ experience in a senior finance role, ideally in luxury hospitality or travel
• Proficient in accounting software such as SAGE 300 (or similar)
• Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience with hospitality property systems (Opera V5 or Opera Cloud preferred)
• Knowledge of Sage Payroll Professional advantageous
• Proven track record of accurate financial reporting and audit management
• South African citizenship with valid RSA ID
• Own reliable transport and valid driver’s licence

• R30,000 CTC maximum
