Financial Accountant

SUMMARY:
We are seeking a strong Financial Accountant with extensive SAP and Freight/logistics industry experience, intercompany expertise, and the ability to engage confidently with international stakeholders. The role involves preparing monthly financial reports, managing insurance policies and procedures, authorising EFT and freight payments, and overseeing fixed asset management. Recommend and implement solutions through designated channels

Implement risk management strategies and continuous process improvements
Develop human capital and capacity aligned with market demand
ISO Quality & Compliance
Ensure adherence to ISO policies and procedures
Identify, document, and correct process or quality issues
Report and communicate solutions to Management/MD
Statutory & Audit Compliance
Corporate & Tax: Companies Act, Income Tax Act, VAT, PAYE, UIF, SDL
Bank: SARB requirements, authorisations, reconciliations
B-BEE compliance and POPIA
Conduct annual financial, VAT, and process audits
Month-End & Reporting
Prepare monthly financial reports, balance sheets, and VAT returns
Manage internal and Head Office reporting schedules
Banking & Cash Management
Authorise EFTs and foreign payments
Petty cash reconciliations, bank entries, and fund approvals
Fixed Asset Management
Manage additions, disposals, depreciation, Capex approvals, and budget tracking
Income Statement & Cost Allocation
Review monthly cost allocations with BU Managers
Record and review financial journals

Skills & Experience:
Support the Financial Manager and finance team in process improvement, problem-solving, and financial operations.
Prepare monthly financial reports, balance sheets, VAT returns, intercompany reporting, and manage fixed assets.
Oversee banking, EFTs, foreign payments, petty cash, and cost allocations.
Ensure compliance with ISO policies, Companies Act, Tax Act, VAT, PAYE, UIF, SDL, B-BEE, POPIA, and audits.
Strong SAP experience required; engage with international stakeholders and bring 3–5 years’ relevant finance experience, preferably in logistics or freight forwarding.

Matric
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with Articles
