POSITION INFO:
We are seeking a Financial Accountant to join our finance team in providing back-office support and services to a USA domiciled specialty collateralized reinsurance company and other USA Group entities. The Accountant will be responsible for various monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reinsurance reporting duties and well as to support various system and process improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Perform monthly and or quarterly closing procedures, reinsurance journal entries, reconciliations, and analyses.
- Assist in the preparation of various reports and support the quarterly reinsurance reporting process.
- Support the coordination of the annual audit in cooperation with external auditors.
- Assist with continuous review and improvement of finance processes, controls and automation efforts.
- Participate in ad-hoc task and projects.
Requirements
- A professional accounting designation is required.
- Previous accounting experience in captive insurance or reinsurance is an advantage.
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office product suite.
- Ability to work independently prioritise and plan deliverables and use time efficiently.
- High degree of initiative, dependable with the ability to work in a dynamic environment.
- Attention to detail, accuracy and thoroughness and monitors own work to ensure quality.
- Strong work ethic.
