POSITION INFO:
My client is seeking a Financial Accountant to join their team and play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and strategic support to business decisions.

This is an excellent opportunity for a driven individual to grow in a dynamic environment.

This role is based in Airport City, Cape Town.

Key Responsibilities

As a Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for:

Preparing and reconciling financial records up to trial balance.
Managing bank reconciliations, petty cash, and intergroup transactions.
Coordinating and processing local payments and reviewing creditors’ reconciliations.
Posting monthly journals, including provisions, accruals, depreciation, shareholders’ interest, and tax.
Preparing and reviewing balance sheet accounts and supporting schedules.
Assisting with budgets, forecasts, and reporting on actual company performance.
Reviewing the fixed asset register and managing depreciation.
Ensuring tax compliance, including VAT and payroll tax reconciliations, and liaising with SARS when required.
Compiling annual financial statements in line with accounting standards.
Overseeing cash management to ensure operational requirements and timely supplier payments.

Requirements

BCom Financial / Management Accounting degree (completed SAIPA articles essential).
Minimum 1 year post-article experience.
SAIPA membership advantageous.
Knowledge of Draftworx and EpiCor beneficial.
Strong understanding of IFRS for SMEs, income tax, and VAT.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
