POSITION INFO:
A well-established company is seeking a Financial Accountant to join its finance team. This exciting opportunity is suited to a hands-on accounting professional with completed articles and strong financial reporting experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing key accounting processes, ensuring VAT compliance, overseeing procurement-related financial activities, and leading finance staff. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and review monthly management accounts and financial reports. Manage month-end and year-end accounting processes. Process and review journals and reconciliations. Ensure VAT compliance and accurate submissions. Oversee procurement-related financial transactions and controls. Supervise and support finance team members. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management. Support annual audits and statutory reporting requirements. Identify and implement process improvements within the finance function. Provide financial analysis and recommendations to management. Job Experience and Skills Required: BCom Accounting Degree. Completed SAICA or SAIPA Articles. Minimum 5 years' post-articles experience. Previous people management experience. Strong understanding of VAT and financial compliance requirements. Experience managing journals, reconciliations, and financial reporting processes. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Experience with BuildSmart advantageous. Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills. Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
