A reputable locally started retail concern who has been in existence since 1934 is looking for a business savvy Financial Accountant to join their team.

JOB & COMPANY DESCRIPTION

The Financial Accountant will be responsible for planning and preparing financial management including monthly reviews, financial plans, budgets, and forecasts as well as managing and controlling capital expenditure and revenue budgets. The Financial Accountant will be responsible for managing the payroll system and pension fund scheme, providing variance analysis, finalizing year-end income statement, and overseeing the external audit and annual financial management process. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring financial governance, internal controls and ensuring stock levels are reviewed and assessed and ensuring appropriate internal controls are implemented to manage stock risks.

EDUCATION

The successful candidate must have the following qualifications:

CA (SA)
Big 4 audit experience is preferred
Strong academic record

JOB EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED

At least 2-3 years post article experience
Experience in the retail/manufacturing industries is preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience dealing with stock
Working knowledge of loading payments, month-end journals, and reconciliations
Working knowledge of tax payments and cost and revenue analysis
