Financial Accountant

Purpose of the role:

Financial Accountant to reconcile the general ledger accounts on our trial balance and update statutory records. The position will have a dual reporting line into the National Finance Manager and the Group Finance Manager. This role is an exciting opportunity for an individual who wants to be part of a growing organisation and contribute towards process efficiency.

The ideal candidate should pay attention to detail, be focused, structured and highly organised. The candidate should be able to work independently, managing the function, but also be team-orientated in working towards the common goal and purpose of the organisation.A Leader in the Health and Fitness industry is looking for a seasoned individual who can come in and hit the ground running. This indivudual will lead by example, by a pragmatic approach, action and ensuring they work hand in hand with the Finance Team.

Job requirements:

• Perform general accounting activities
• Preparation of financial report
• Budgeting & forecasts
• Cashflow analysis
• Intercompany transactions
• Review of consolidated group and subsidiary business unit general ledger accounts in the trial balance in order to identify errors.
• Preparation of journal entries to correct errors identified in the general ledger accounts.
• Reconciliation of amended balances to ensure they reflect the true financial position of the organisation as at the year-end.
• Maintenance of well referenced electronic and manual records which will, when necessary, allow an audit trial of journal entries created to be conducted with ease.

Education and Background

• BCom Degree
• SAICA/SAIPA articles beneficial
• 5 years commercial experience
• Advanced Excel skills
• Microsoft Business Central
