Financial Accountant

The incumbent will be responsible for the statutory and operational finance function of the company. Ensuring monthly financial reporting is completed accurately and on time, the business’s cashflow is managed daily including cash flow forecasting and analysis of the business working capital cycle, statutory compliance is maintained in all respects and routine/ad-hoc operational finance reports are executed as required by management.

Minimum Requirements:

• BCom Accounting Science degree / BCom Financial Management degree
• Completed articles (SAIPA or SAICA),
• Minimum 3 years work experience as an accountant / or minimum 2 years commercial experience after completing articles,
• Sound knowledge of IFRS and tax regulations,
• Experience working within a group company would be an advantage,
• Proficiency in the definition and analysis of business problems,
• Strong Excel skills.

Performance Areas (Responsibilities):

• Accurate accounting including processing all monthly journals and recurring journals.
• Perform monthly reporting to both Management and Executive levels.
• Preparation of monthly management accounts which includes detailed variance analysis.
• Preparation of routine/ad-hoc operational finance reports as requested by MANCO.
• Prepare monthly historical and projected cashflows for the business and update cashflow on a weekly basis.
• Monitor and report on the working capital position of the business, weekly.
• Liaise with external auditors at financial year-end.
• Performing VAT reconciliation and submission.
• Submission of PAYE and other statutory obligations.
• Performing balance sheet reconciliations monthly.
• Preparation of yearly budgets in conjunction with operations and the finance management teams.
