A leading holding company in the insurance space is looking for a seasoned finance professional for a Financial Accountant to join their finance team.

JOB & COMPANY DESCRIPTION

The Financial Accountant will be responsible for the full debtors’ and creditors’ function as well as the full bookkeeping up to trial balance. The Financial Accountant will be responsible for preparing management accounts for all entities, updating of daily cash flow for each entity, and the financial statements. The successful candidate will be responsible for VAT reconciliations, reporting on financial information, budgeting and cash flow management, monthly consolidated management accounts and liaising with accountants responsible for the entities. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and managing the annual audits and monthly EXCO packs.

EDUCATION

The successful candidate must have the following qualifications:

BCom Honors in Accounting
Completed SAICA articles is preferred

JOB EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED

At least 3-5 years’ post article experience in a similar role
Experience in the insurance/financial services industry is preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work under pressure and deadline driven
Adaptable, self-motivated, proactive, and positive energetic personality
Willing to implement new processes and procedures to increase efficiency
Willing to propose new ideas for the benefit of the company
Strong understanding of financial processes and reconciliations
Working knowledge of consolidations
