JOB DESCRIPTION:

Job and Company description:

My client specializes in branding and apparel with holding up to half a million Rand in stock at any given time and using just under 40 000 squared meters warehousing space. The incumbent must be comfortable with multiple currency reporting and consolidations. Being deadline driven and detailed orientated will certainly aid you in this endeavour.

As Financial Accountant you will be responsible for:

Prepare profit and loss statements and monthly closing and cost accounting reports.
Compile and analyse financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, and document business transactions.
Establish, maintain, and coordinate the implementation of accounting and accounting control procedures.
Monitor and review accounting and related system reports for accuracy and completeness.
Review budget to Actual for revenue, expense, payroll entries, invoices, and other accounting documents.
Strong understanding of Inventory, Imports / Exports, costings and Margin Analysis
Reporting in Multiple Currencies as well as consolidation in Group Currency with emphasis on inter-company loan accounts
Analyse revenue and expenditure trends and recommend appropriate budget levels and ensure expenditure control.
Resolve accounting discrepancies.
Supervise the input and handling of financial data and reports for the Company's automated financial systems.
Interact with external auditors in completing audits.
Produce error-free accounting reports and present results.
Analyse financial information and summarise financial status.
Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures.
Oversee accounting assistants and bookkeepers
Assist with tax audits and tax returns.
Ensure that all statutory compliance is met
Support month-end and year-end close process.
Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
Ensure compliance with GAAP principles.

Job Experience and Skills Required:

Com Accounting – Articles preferred
Syspro and GAAP advantageous
Ability to deal with large transaction volumes
