JOB DESCRIPTION:

Job and Company description:

This is a wonderful opportunity for a Financial Accountant to join a company with vast intellectual capital from its engineers, scientists and technologists. My client is a global leader in minerals and metallurgical innovation, providing research, development and technology transfer, to promote mineral technology across borders. There will be management accountant duties along with your full financial accountant role.

As Financial Accountant you will be responsible for:

Gather and monitor financial data (e.g. sales revenues and liabilities)
Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual statements (balance sheets and income statements)
Forecast costs and revenues
Manage tax payments
Organize internal audits
Prepare budgets (for the entire company and by department)
Monitor and report on accounting discrepancies
Conduct detailed risk analyses to assess potential investments
Analyze financial trends
Perform month-end and year-end close processes

Job Experience and Skills Required:

B.Com Honours
Project experience
Management accounting experience advantageous
