SUMMARY:
A Proudly South African giant, specialising in the manufacturing of defence and military products and boasting a multinational footprint, seeks an experienced and accurate Financial Accountant to join their dynamic team based in Pretoria.

POSITION INFO:
Job & Company Description:
The successful incumbent will deliver accurate and efficient financial reporting. The primary responsibility will be to oversee and monitor statutory returns, acting as liaison to third parties, and participate in reviewing and aiding in the completion of tender documents. You will also assist with year-end assessments and play a critical role in helping finance to attain monthly targets.

Duties include:

Manage daily accounting operations
Prepare and review account reconciliations and journal entries
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
Analyse financial transactions and produce insights
Analyse financial discrepancies, make adjustments and provide recommendations
Compile information for audit purposes
Assist in preparation of budgets and forecasts
Prepare and maintain financial statements, documents and records
Track and report on accounts payable and receivable
Ensure compliance with regulations
Liaise with third parties in terms of legal matters, review and audit of financial statements, and insurance of assets
Liaise with banks
Preparation and review of asset sales / purchase agreements
Annual and monthly budgets and actuals
Tax planning
Weekly cash flow planning and payments review
Process foreign payments
Preparation of financial statements / management statements
Attend to SARS audits / queries
Monthly group reporting
General operational reporting
Implementation and review of internal accounting controls
CIPC annual returns and SARS tax returns
Annual payroll reconciliation

Education:

BCom Degree in Finance or Accounting
SAIPA qualified essential

Job Experience & Skills Required:

Completed SAIPA articles
3 to 4 years post articles experience in a group level finance role
Manufacturing industry experience essential
Proven experience in foreign currencies and transactions
Strong SAP or Syspro skills
Excellent reporting skills
Meticulous attention to detail
Deadline driven
