QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• CA(SA) with 3-5 years post-articles experience
• Previous IFRS experience
• Previous experience of managing different jurisdictional payrolls
• Previous experience of managing, developing and motivating a team
• Experience managing system implementation projects
• Good knowledge of different jurisdictional tax requirements
• Previous financial services experience is beneficial
• Regulatory filings experience

• Demonstrated history of successes and achievements occupationally, academically and /or other arenas of life

COMPETENCIES, SKILLS AND BEHAVIOURS

• Ability to handle pressure
• Comfortable with change and transition
• French, German or Hebrew language skills would be an advantage

OVERALL PURPOSE

Reporting to the Group Head of Financial Reporting, the Financial Accounting Manager will be responsible for the effective management of a small, international team to ensure the accurate and timely month end close process for all entities in the Group. Included is the preparation/review and submission of VAT and tax calculations and the provision of financial information to business functions across the Group, enabling them to make budgeting and investments decisions.

PRINCIPAL ELEMENTS AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

To ensure the production of high-quality financial outputs in a timely manner from the financial accounting team

• To be responsible for the month end close process of more challenging Group entities including the following:

O Bank reconciliations on a weekly and monthly basis to ensure that the cash records are correct

O Liaise with the accounts payable team to ensure that accruals and prepayments are booked correctly

O Liaise with the billing team to ensure that they have completed the billing, WIP accruals, bad debt provisions and income split journals for assigned Group entities

O Review of the monthly trend analysis for assigned Group entities

O Preparing the monthly profit and loss, and balance sheet reports

O Provide input into cash forecast for tax or other cash items

• Review and complete VAT and Tax returns for the relevant tax authority within required deadlines
• Ensure that the team understands and adheres to all financial and accounting regulations and legislation
• Assist with the completion of regulatory returns during busy periods and provide data to the regulatory reporting team for monthly regulatory cap updates
• Review of the local and Group SLA’s calculations
• Review the monthly payroll for assigned jurisdictions
• Review month payroll journals for assigned entities
• Preparation of weekly/monthly cash flow statements, and controlling expenditure and cash flow
• Prepare year-end statutory financial statements and review the those produced by the team
• Respond to ad-hoc financial queries by gathering and interpreting data
• Liaison with auditors
• Provide on the job training and support to team members
