SUMMARY:

POSITION INFO:
They are seeking a Finance Assistant to support their Johannesburg-based finance function with monthly accounting activities across multiple group entities. These include both insurance and reinsurance businesses, as well as investment holding structures. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working within a dynamic, multinational setting.

Key Responsibilities:

Process and capture financial transactions in Pastel Partner for multiple local and international entities
Perform bank reconciliations and load online payments (including multi-currency transactions)
Assist with monthly account closures and reporting
Conduct forex revaluations and ensure accurate month-end processing
Prepare and manage the underwriter payment process, including Bordereaux production, reconciliations, and related communication
Collaborate with brokering and technology teams to ensure the accurate integration of financial systems
Support year-end procedures and audit processes
Assist with managing and recovering aged debtors
Carry out finance-related HR tasks, such as sending payslips and IRP5s

Candidate Profile:

Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Minimum of 5 years relevant experience, ideally in a small, growing business with an international footprint
Proficient in accounting software, especially Pastel Partner
Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage responsibilities independently
Comfortable working under pressure and in a changing, fast-paced environment
