POSITION INFO:

My client in Financial Services is seeking two dynamic and self-motivated Financial Controllers to join our team on a 6-month contract from April to September 2025 with a possibility of extension. This role will provide critical support during the upcoming budget cycle and assist with business-as-usual (BAU) financial control tasks. If you are a newly qualified CA(SA) or have 1-2 years of post-article experience, we encourage you to apply!

Responsibilities:

• Assist with budgeting and financial control
• Manage BAU financial tasks, including journals
• Support the financial manager
• Journals
• Financial Reporting
• Working closely with Operations
• Ad-hoc tasks as required by the project
• Verify and allocate details of business transactions to accounts
  
• Receive invoices from suppliers, check reasonability and process
• Calculate and process invoices for fee income
  
• Ensure collection of income
  
• Complete reconciliations
  
• Review accuracy of financial record keeping
  
• Manage expenses against budgets and report back to management (IT / Marketing / cellphone / training)
  
• Compile reports for management
  
• Resolve payment and invoicing queries
  
• Complete rebate calculations
  
• Assist with month-end procedures, including provisions and reporting
  
• Assist internal and external auditors with their requests
• Assist with annual budget processes
  
• Follow up on outstanding receivables / payables
  
• Check and authorize broker payments
  
• Ad hoc requests
  
• Completion and submission of asset and flows report (portfolio list)
  
• Manager fee expense reasonability checks and payments, and liasing with managers to resolve differences

Requirements:

• CA(SA) with 2 years Post Articles experience
• SAP experience is advantageous, but any ERP system will suffice
• Available immediately and be able to commit to the 6 months in total
