SUMMARY:
A Financial Controller is needed on a 6 month contract basis. The ideal candidate would be currently unemployed and immediately available with at least 3-5 years in a similar role managing a team of clerks.
POSITION INFO:
Minimum Qualifications / Experience:
- Matric / Tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance
- SAIPA or similar an advantage
- 3 – 5 years’ experience in a similar role supervising a team of clerks.
- Intermediate / Advanced Excel Skills
- Experience on systems such as Pastel / Syspro
- Experience reviewing and reconciling General Ledger accounts
Main Duties/Key Results Areas:
Leadership:- Successfully lead and motivate a team of clerks
- Strive towards creating a work environment where creditors clerks can achieve goals and meet objectives
Processing:
- Ensure that all processing deadlines are met
- Ensure that all invoices/Credit notes are correctly captured on Pastel/Syspro
- Assist with processing if and should the need arise
Reviewing of Reconciliations:Ensure that reconciliations are reviewed before submission to Managers/Directors
Account Queries:- Ensure that all queries on the accounts are kept to a minimum by assisting the creditors clerks where required.
- Assist creditors clerks with reconciliations when required
Cashflow and banking:- Cashflow management for various entities
- Assist with SARB applications
Management accounts:- Compile management accounts on a monthly basis
- Assist with intercompany bill backs
Reporting:- Compile weekly management dashboard
- Compile weekly/monthly reporting requested by management
- Compile reports on forward contracts which have entered into
New Employees:- Assist in the training of new employees added to team when required
