Financial Controller

SUMMARY:
This long-standing Durban manufacturing concern currently seeks a Financial Controller for their 3 month contract, to compile and provide accurate and timeous financial information to the Factory Manager in order to make informed business decisions.

POSITION INFO:
Minimum Requirements:

• B.Com or National Diploma in Financial Accounting.
• Min 5 years’ experience in a similar role.

• Provide financial analysis and support to management and all operational areas of the business.
• Monitor and support debtors and creditors.
• Review weekly payroll.
• Review and action financial variances (budget/forecast).
• Review and action balance sheet account variances.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS.
• Prepare and maintain a Capex and tooling register tracking actual spend against approved spend, planning future profitability and cashflow of the projects.
• Prepare Capex requisition with all relevant information regarding the Capex project.
• Internal control - comply with internal controls and maintain & review risk register.
• Participate in and prepare the budgets and forecasts.
• Prepare plant profit & loss and balance sheet forecasts.
• Prepare various financial reports and returns (monthly BU/financial packs).
• Compile and prepare general ledger journals and recons.
• Prepare provision and accruals.
• Compile Royalties schedule for month end processing.
• Prepare and plan year-end statutory audit (external & internal).
• Prepare and arrange royalty audits.
• Calculate landed cost on all import shipments.
• Cash management.
• Debtors management.
• Review Forex forecasts and FEC contracts based on AP requirements.
