JOB SUMMARY:
A leading Engineering Company based in the Northern Suburbs is seeking to appoint a qualified financial controller to join their team.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

REPORTING & MEASUREMENTS

Ultimately responsible for the Financial MPC system from trial balance to financial statements
- Ensure that personnel correctly update system that is required for correct functioning
- Control and monitoring of financial function
- Compiling and reporting on company ratios in accordance with company objectives
- Sign off Creditors Monthly as accurate and complete for month end
Budget
- Review, approve and present budget for signoff
- Report monthly on deviations between budget and actual as well as actual vs prior year
- Ensure that respective managers take responsibility of budget in terms of deviations
- Facilitate budget and cost control functions by attending weekly HR, Sales and Logistics, Technical and Financial meetings with managers
Monthly Management Statements
- Responsible for the provisions
- Ensure correct fixed asset register and depreciation
- Compiling and presenting of monthly management statements to Directors by 20th of every month
- Ensure correct ERP (SYSPRO) system functioning with relation to all transactions, and including internal production control, with Systems Process Owner
- Support department head with relation to SYSPRO reports, and/or interpretation of financial data
Cost control
- Ensure correct functioning of stock and stock control systems with Systems Process Owner
- Responsible to provide financial advice, and support to all parties (including senior management and/or board) to enable them with making sound business transactions
- Review costing sheets – Flat Wire, Auger, Chain, Corner Units
FINANCE STAFF MANAGEMENT
- Managing, assisting and motivation of reporting personnel, including leave, training and general wellbeing of personnel
- Evaluate and sign-off payroll

STATUTORY

Corporate Responsibility
- Maintaining of filing system for statutory requirements and share certificates with relation to financial
On Time Delivery
- Ensure that staff compile reports statutory requirements on time
- Sign of all monthly statutory requirements in time; SARS, PAYE, SDL, UIF, MEIBC, VAT
Publish financial information for weekly and monthly meetings.
Responsible for the approval of credit limits, payment terms, methods and monitoring of weekly debtor accounts.
Responsible for the execution of general company registration and statutory requirements, which may result in liaising with government, SARS and auditors.
Reporting
- Management accounts
- Group income statement, balance sheet & trial balance
- RPM report

Qualifications & Experience:

Completed B. Com accounting degree or similar
Completed articles
3-5 years post articles experience.
Advanced Excel
Syspro Experience
