Up to R760 000 per annum

SUMMARY:
To maintain and update the General Ledger in order to provide timeous and accurate Financial Accounting information for input into the management reporting process.

POSITION INFO:

Grade 12
National Diploma or Bcom in Financial Accounting or related qualification
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role

Financial Strategy:

Assist with input into financial strategy

General Financial Management:

Provide financial analysis and support to management and all operational areas of the business

Financial Management System:

Maintain and update Accounting Systems

Internal Control:

Comply with Internal Controls

Budgets:

Prepare operational budgets and load budgets on the system
Prepare operational forecasts and load forecasts on the system

Forecasts:

Prepare operational forecasts and load forecasts on the system

Financial Pack:

Prepare financial reports and returns (Monthly BU Management Pack)
Investigate and action Financial variances (Budget/Forecast)

Flash Results:

Produce BU Flash Results and analyse variances

General Ledger:

Compile Balance Sheet Account reconciliations
Investigate and action Balance Sheet Account variances
Prepare and post Journal entries
Liaise with central functions and facilitate reconciliations to substitute subsystem

Audits and Year-End Processes:

Prepare and plan Year-end Statutory Audit (external and internal) in line with the consolidated Audit plan
Prepare ledger balances and an initial trial balance including all reconciliations, Balance Sheet Accounts and supporting documentation
Follow up and action Audit findings
Liaise with Auditors regarding specific requirements

Cash Management:

Monitor daily cash positions and cash flows to ensure settlements and maximise performance.
Manage cash flow and working capital

Forex:

Revalue foreign creditors and bank accounts
Prepare forex forecasts
Purchase Forward Exchange Contracts

CAPEX:

Complete CAPEX/Disposal/Transfer applications
Monitor and report CAPEX monthly spend vs. budget

Stock control:

Together with Logistics department mange stock holdings

Insurance:

Prepare and submit insurance declarations
Files claims and losses

Creditors:

Review and authorise creditors’ payments

Fixed Assets:

Maintain and update the Fixed Asset Register (issue Asset No''s, etc.)

Statutory Returns:

Prepare business tax returns (VAT, PAYE, SDL, UIF, WCA)
Comply with value-added tax administration
Review statistics returns

Debtors:

Maintain and update the tooling account
Manage Credit risk (insure debtors’ book etc)

Continuous Improvement:

Identify improvement opportunities and make recommendations for improvements
Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives

Reporting:

Analyse and interpret Finance Reports and statistical data
Prepare financial reports and returns
Generate information and reports for internal and external use
