POSITION INFO:

Our client, a global precious metal and technology company is currently looking to employ a Financial Controlling and Tax Accountant.

Requirements:

• A combination of a tertiary qualification Management Accounting or Finance and +5years experience in a similar position with cost accounting and variance analysis at a senior-level
• Proficiency in SAP R/3 (CO, MM, FI) and Microsoft Office
• Knowledge of tax, finance, accounting, budgeting and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and IFRS
• Knowledge of automated financial; accounting reporting systems and tax and financial regulations.
• Ability to analyse financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
• Working knowledge of short- and long-term budgeting and forecasting, rolling budgets, and product-line profitability analysis.

Responsibilities:

Major Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

• Ensure company accounting procedures conform to generally accepted accounting principles / IFRS
• Manage the cost control, profitability analysis and projection of the company
• Plan and develop systems and procedures to improve the operating quality and efficiency of the department.

Financial Controlling:

• Maintain and enforce internal controls and financial procedures.
• Review errors and resolve prior to month end with support of Warehouse Operator and Production Team leaders
• Analyse production, Cost centre, Woking Hours variances , Internal Order allocations
• Resolve issues with Production / HoD’s prior to month end reporting
• Support warehouse / plant stock counts / Stock count adjustments
• In conjunction with the Technology manager, review and update BOMS, routing and activity rates
• Calculate labour rates, new materials, SAP costing for accuracy and completeness
• Monthly PM margin review and GP report

Financial reporting:

• Preparation and completion monthly variance reports for discussion with Production and Management
• Compile summary of results and comments for discussion with Financial Controller prior to submission of results 
• Cost calculations for RFC and Budget, based on volumes received from Sales Manager
• Sales reporting: Checking RFC files for delta’s against previous month submissions
• Tax: Tax computations, review of W & T, provisional tax comps and documentation
• Support the Financial Controller with the review and preparation of Transfer pricing policy and documentation
• Monthly PM Margin and Gross profit report highlighting loss makers and high earners

Budgeting:

• Assist with the compilation of company financial planning and budget reports
• Control of approved budgets of the various departments.
• Process cost calculations

General Finance Administration:

• Serving as liaison with auditors and communicate with them to ensure all questions can be answered efficiently.
