My client in the import / export sector seeks qualified and experienced Financial Manager to lead and direct accounting activities within the Admin and Finance department, overseeing a range of duties. You will manage and guide financial operations, ensuring efficiency and accuracy. You will collaborate with subordinate supervisors to drive strategic financial initiatives and uphold departmental standards. Responsibilities:

• Responsible for ensuring credit risk is balanced with business objectives
• Accountable for all financial reporting in compliance with all financial policies
• Preparation of various financial statements and reports for group reporting
• Oversee the general accounting and administration function, including inter-company accounting, cash management, financial reporting
• Manage external accountants and ensure timeous reporting
• Direct the maintenance of general and subsidiary ledgers, accounts receivable, revenue distribution, depreciation, cost, property and operating expenses and insurance records
• Direct and participate in cost analyses and rate studies
• Direct internal audits involving the review of accounting and administrative controls
• Coordinate preparation of internal audit materials and timeous financial reporting to HQ
• Review financial statements with management personnel
• Monitor business performance
• Monitor and manage cash flows
• Monitor foreign currency exposure and manages foreign currency risk
• Ensure that the regulatory requirements and compliance of all statutory bodies are met
• Assist MD with the operational processes and ad hoc duties

Requirements:

• B.Comm Accounting or similar degree (Honours degree advantageous)
• A minimum of 5 years' experience in Financial Manager role
• Excellent knowledge of SA Tax and Accounting principles (IFRS)
• Experience working with high-value and high volumes of foreign exchange essential
• Accurate and meticulous approach to work
