Duties and Responsibilities

Prepare and review monthly management accounts and ensure accurate financial reporting in line with IFRS and regulatory requirements
Assist with financial statement preparation and annual audit processes, ensuring compliance with insurance industry standards
Support budgeting and forecasting cycles, including variance analysis and commentary for senior leadership
Monitor and analyze underwriting results, claims ratios, and loss trends, providing insight into financial performance
Liaise with internal and external auditors, regulatory bodies (e.g., FSCA, SARB), and ensure all reporting deadlines are met
Manage cash flow and investment reporting, ensuring funds are allocated in line with solvency and liquidity requirements
Assist in regulatory submissions, including SAM (Solvency Assessment and Management) reporting and returns
Contribute to financial controls and process improvements, ensuring accuracy and compliance across the finance function
Collaborate with actuarial and underwriting teams to align financial outcomes with business performance

Experience and Skills Required

CA(SA)
Either audited insurance industry, or 1-2 years post articles experience in the insurance industry.
Analytical mindset with attention to detail
Proactive and able to work independently
