Financial Manager

SUMMARY:
A well-established and growing organization based in Durban North is seeking an experienced and results-driven Financial Manager to oversee and manage the full financial function of the business. The successful candidate will play a strategic role in financial planning, compliance, reporting, and operational decision-making. This position is ideal for a seasoned finance professional with strong leadership skills and a hands-on approach.

POSITION INFO:
Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the full finance function, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting
• Prepare and review monthly management accounts and annual financial statements
• Ensure compliance with all statutory, regulatory, and tax requirements (VAT, PAYE, Income Tax, etc.)
• Manage cash flow, working capital, and financial risk
• Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls
• Provide strategic financial analysis and insights to support executive decision-making
• Lead, mentor, and manage the finance team
• Liaise with external auditors, bankers, and other financial stakeholders
• Monitor financial performance and identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements
• Support business growth initiatives through financial planning and analysis

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field (essential)
• Professional qualification such as CA(SA), CIMA, or ACCA (preferred)
• 8–10 years’ proven experience in a financial management role
• Strong knowledge of South African financial regulations and tax legislation
• Advanced proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under pressure
• High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail
