POSITION INFO:
Our client is a respected player within the Education sector, shaping learning environments while managing the operational complexity that comes with growth and scale. Based in Durban North, they’re looking for a commercially aware Financial Manager to lead the finance function and support strategic decision-making across the business. You’ll work closely with leadership, operational teams and stakeholders to ensure the organisation remains financially healthy, compliant and future-focused.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the full financial management function across the business
Prepare and review management accounts, budgets, and forecasts
Manage cash flow, reconciliations, and financial reporting processes
Ensure compliance with statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements
Lead month-end and year-end reporting and audit processes
Monitor financial performance and provide strategic financial insights
Strengthen controls, processes, and operational efficiencies
Partner with senior leadership on budgeting, planning, and decision-making
Lead and support the finance team

Job Experience and Skills Required:

BCom / CIMA / CA(SA) qualification
5+ years’ post-articles experience in a Financial Management role
Education industry experience essential
Strong financial reporting, budgeting and operational finance experience
Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
Commercially minded with a hands-on approach to finance
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, people-driven environment
