Are you a commercially minded Finance Manager who understands that logistics is more than just numbers?
Our client, is looking for a driven, energetic and hands-on Financial Manager to take ownership of the finance function and partner closely with the Managing Director.
This is a high-volume, fast-paced 24/7 operation, where December is traditionally one of the busiest periods. We need someone who can handle pressure, think strategically and still have their finger on the detail. ðð
POSITION INFO:
ð¥ WHAT MAKES THIS ROLE DIFFERENT? We're looking for someone with post-SAICA\/SAIPA articles experience who can bring strong technical accounting and financial management skills together with genuine logistics\/freight industry exposure . You should understand the commercial realities of: ð Transport & logistics ð¢ Freight forwarding ð¦ Containers ð Transnet ð° Freight\/rate structures ð Costing and profitability ðµ Cash-flow management ð¼ YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES You'll have broad ownership across the finance function, including: Preparing financial statements, management reports, forecasts and budgets Cash-flow planning and financial forecasting Managing debtors, creditors, payroll and insurance Balance sheet reconciliations and loan accounts VAT reconciliations, submissions and audits Managing amortisation schedules, interest calculations and asset registers Reviewing financial performance and identifying cost-saving and profitability opportunities Managing payment releases and inter-account transfers Overseeing credit notes, sales orders and creditor invoice approvals Supporting annual and external audits Preparing Stats SA and other statutory reporting Monitoring financial controls, compliance and risk Providing commercial insights to management to support decision-making Managing and developing finance staff Overseeing Pastel , user access, databases and finance-related IT requirements Supporting BEE compliance and Section 24\/EE management and implementation Identifying opportunities for business growth and improved financial performance ð¯ WE'RE LOOKING FOR: Essential: Relevant B.Com \/ Accounting qualification SAICA or SAIPA articles completed 5 years Post-articles financial management\/accounting experience Strong financial reporting, budgeting and cash-flow experience Excellent attention to detail Strong leadership and communication skills Ability to work under pressure in a high-volume environment Strong computer\/technology skills Transport, logistics, freight forwarding or related industry experience Understanding of Transnet, containers, freight rates and logistics operations If you are interested in this opportunity, please apply directly.
