SUMMARY:
An independently owned Key player on the Commercial Business side is seeking a Dynamic Senior Financial Manager with a proven track record in the Insurance to join their team of Dynamic individuals

POSITION INFO:
Responsible for the financial control of the insurance segment within the business, and supports the management team by offering insights and financial advice that will them to make the best business decisions for the company

Duties and responsibilities:

Monitoring and Management of all the activities performed by the Insurance Finance Team, ensuring accurate information is submitted within reporting time frames
Further development and upskilling of the Insurance Finance Team
Enablement of 5 year projected business growth strategy and initiatives
Preparation and or review of month end results
Preparation and/or review of the monthly management accounts for insurance (3 pastel entities), including management commentary
Preparation and/or review of the quarterly reporting for board, advisory committee and particularly the CFO report
Preparation of monthly KPI analysis on management accounts (including related commentary)
Review of balance sheet reconciliations and ensuring financial control across the insurance account
Engagement with insurance actuarial for inputs from actuarial models into the financials
Engagement with the actuarial profitability team on financial performance and impact on budgets and forecasts
Review of reporting to external parties (Guardrisk, regulatory authorities, etc.)
Management of external audit engagement for insurance
Provide technical view on all accounting and financial reporting matters for insurance
Automation of manual controls and processes
Control risk identification and proposal of corrective/preventative/detective controls

Requirements:
CA (SA)
Advanced Excel knowledge
Prior insurance experience would be advantageous
3-5 years post article experience
Prior Pastel experience would be advantageous

Duties and responsibilities are not limited to the above and certain ad-hoc responsibilities will be included
