Financial Manager

SUMMARY:
Our client, a retail giant, is looking for store based Financial manager in the Vryburg area.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum Requirements:

• Degree/Diploma in Finance.
• 5-6 years’ relevant working experience.
• Completed Articles.
• Experience working with Arch.
• Experience working with Pastel Evolution.
• Experience with SAP – Advantageous.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Financial Control and Reporting:

• Daily, weekly and monthly reporting to head office.
• Weekly review of payroll reports prior to submission to head office.
• Meeting all deadlines.
• Review and report to the executive committee, monthly on the store’s performance.
• Daily transaction reconciliation of Arch vs Pastel.

Suppliers and Recons:

• Supplier relations and direct payments in consultation with head office.
• Creditor claims and control.
• Paper flow from receiving/buying to head office and controlling creditors deductions.
• Auditing and balancing of transactions between supplier statements and Pastel Evolution.
• Check and facilitate supplier payments. 
• Actively control critical supplier balances due versus limits and store needs forecasting to ensure that “no stop” supply is not reached.
• Maximising working capital.

Debtor Management:

• Weekly tracking of Debtors and in arrears collections.
• Ensure Debtor Accounts to have proper documentation in place.

Risk Management:

• Ensure store compliance by setting policies and procedures.
• Liaise with external and internal auditors in conjunction with group and regional Finance General Manager.
• Safeguarding of stock, assets, and cash.
• Receiving GRV sequence and verification checks, scrutinising the integrity of GRV’s and its origin.
• Check process of GRV’s done including accuracy (balancing GRV to invoice). 
• Daily reporting on GRV’s not done and the reasons for not completing it.
• Weekly review of cashier shorts and overs.
• Daily spot checks of cashier floats.
• Daily report on till over’s and under.  
• Appropriate action to correct till over’s and under.
• Balancing of weekly cash float.
• Weekly reporting on trolleys.
• Ensuring ATM balancing and loading by cash office personnel.
• Weekly Arch user permissions and checks.
• Safeguarding of Arch Coin / Empty Vouchers.

General:

• Monthly stocktake and corrective actions.
• Any other duties or functions as determined by Store Manager or head office.
• Ongoing assessment of store administration staff.
