Financial Manager

SUMMARY:
Financial Manager Our client, a retail giant, is recruiting for a versatile and detail orientated store based Financial manager in the Cape Town area.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum Requirements:

• Relevant qualification in Finance.
• 2+ years’ relevant working experience.
• Advantageous: Completed Articles.
• Advantageous: Experience working with Arch, SAP and Pastel Evolution.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible to report to head office.
• Review payroll reports prior to submission to head office.
• Deliver reports to the Executive Committee pertaining to the store’s performance.
• Reconciliations of transactions.
• Facilitate supplier payments.
• Supplier relations and direct payments in consultation with head office.
• Creditor claims and control.
• Paper flow from receiving/buying to head office and controlling creditors deductions.
• Auditing and balancing of transactions between supplier statements and Pastel Evolution.
• Weekly tracking of Debtors and in arrears collections.
• Comply and ensure the setting of policies and procedures.
• Liaise with external and internal auditors in conjunction with group and regional Finance General Manager.
• Safeguarding of stock, assets, and cash.
• Daily reporting on GRV’s not done and the reasons for not completing it.
• Weekly review of cashier shorts and overs.
• Daily spot checks of cashier floats.
• Daily report on till over’s and under.  
• Work with the administration staff and assess their performance.
• Appropriate action to correct till over’s and under.
• Balancing of weekly cash float.
• Weekly reporting on trolleys.
• Responsible for ATM balancing.
• Weekly Arch user permissions and checks.
• Monthly stocktake and corrective actions.
• Ad-hoc duties as prescribed by Head Office.
