SUMMARY:
Our client that offers primary healthcare insurance solutions is looking to employ a Finance Manager.

POSITION INFO:

Scope of Responsibility:

• Monthly management reporting

• Monthly insurer underwriting reporting

• Review and management of the income statement, balance sheet and cash flows

• Monthly premium collections and disbursements

• Monthly allocation of premiums and premium splits on a beneficiary level

• Monthly statements and payment of commissions to brokers

• Monthly reconciliation of payments to service providers and other vendors

• Monthly VAT and EMP 201 calculations and submissions

• Management of all statutory and tax requirements

• Compliance with IFRS for SME’s and Income Tax Act

• Preparation and maintenance of budgets and forecasts

• Responsible for all internal and external audits

• Staff management, motivation and training

• Maintain all internal financial controls

• Ensure overall success, accuracy and maintenance of the entire Finance department

• Improve financial data reports by analysing results; monitoring variances; identifying trends; recommending actions to management.

• Create financial reports for premium, claim utilisation, third party expenses.

• Any other duties as assigned by the company from time to time

Qualifications: -

• B. Com Accounting / B. Com Honours or equivalent

• Completed articles an added advantage

• Professional qualification an added advantage e.g CIMA/ CA(SA)

Skills and Experience:

• At least 2 years experience in the insurance sector.

At least 5 years’ experience in the finance function, with at least 2 years at manager level

• Experience in the Financial Services Industry

• Knowledge of Financial Systems and Internal Controls

• Strong business acumen and organisation skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Strong people management skills

• Proficient with entire Microsoft Office suite, i.e. Word, PowerPoint and Excel

• Strong computer skills, VBA an advantage

• Strong analytical and technical skills

• Deadline and results driven individual

• Self-motivated and able to work under pressure to deliver high-quality solutions

• Takes ownership and responsibility

• Must be a result oriented individual with a high level of integrity.

• Ability to work with minimal supervision
