JOB SUMMARY:
A Giant in the Insurance industry is currently seeking a Financial Manager to join their high-performing team. The incumbent MUST have at least 4 yearsâ post-articlesâ experience with at least 2 years in the Insurance space.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Minimum Requirements:

CA(SA) with at least 4 years post articles experience
Comprehensive experience in financial systems
At least 2 years insurance industry experience either in Financial Management/Accounting or External audit capacity
Exposure to IFRS 17
Short-term insurance act and regulations
JD Edwards General Ledger
Hyperion Financial Management (HFM)

Performance Areas (Responsibilities):

Management & Group Reporting including Quarterly reporting to Board of Directors
Preparation and submission of monthly reporting pack to Group
Reporting to external parties (SASRIA, SHA, COIDA, etc)
General Ledger management and ensuring integrity of all accounts during month-end close
Budgeting and Forecasting
Expense Control and approval
Computation of monthly tax calculation
Statutory reporting
Management of Accounting policies, systems, and procedures
Annual Financial Statement preparation
Liaise and coordinate with Internal and External Auditors
IFRS 17 implementation Product Owner
JDE System administrator
Ad Hoc Projects
