JOB SUMMARY:
Our client in the Retail Industry is currently seeking a qualified Chartered Accountant with 1-2 yearsâ post-articleâs experience to take on the role as Financial Manager. The company would like the incumbent to grow within the company. The incumbent will be responsible for performing operational finance functions across all reporting entities.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Minimum Requirements:

Qualified CA(SA)
1-2 years’ post-article experience
Management experience
Financial accounting technical expertise
Commercial acumen
MS Office literate – advanced MS Excel skills

Performance Areas (Responsibilities):

Approval of expense all claims, and payments related to respective business units
Review of management accounts to ensure that prior year actuals, current year actuals and current year budget balance
Investigation and analysis of management accounts and advise regional heads of variances, reasonability of increase in cost and decrease in revenue
Responsible for statutory functions.
Review monthly property, plant and equipment reconciliations and ensure fixed asset register balances to the trial balance
Analysis and review of fixed asset register and take appropriate action i.e. assets to be written off/replaced/still in use
Manage corporate governance requirements and compliance
Manage internal and external audits
Perform monthly external reporting for respective business units
Assist with accurate compilation and costing of tenders and new service methodology
Ensure compliance with internal company policies and procedures to ensure good corporate governance – internal audit
Perform ad-hoc duties as requested related to management accounts and costing
