Southern Oil Pty Ltd, an established company and market leader in manufacturing Canola oil and related products in the retail, food services, and bulk sectors, has the following exciting career opportunity in Swellendam.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Short Summary:

The primary responsibility of this position is to critically review business processes to remove inefficiencies and to instil a financial awareness in operational processes.

Responsibilities:
  • Formulation, implementation and monitoring of internal controls and accounting processes.
  • Safeguarding company assets such as Inventory and Fixed Assets at the company.
  • Provide hands-on assistance to internal departments to resolve any queries timeously.
  • Streamline stock processes and provide training as and when necessary.
  • Hands-on involvement in ensuring a controlled stocktaking environment.
  • Ensuring that the regulatory requirements of all statutory bodies are met regarding group financial affairs.
  • Monthly reporting of stock variances, CAPEX WIP Status and Management Accounts.
  • Ensure accurate allocation of expenses as per the company and financial procedures.
  • Accurate reporting and cost awareness within the company.
  • CAPEX project reporting and commissioning thereof.
  • Collation of annual BEE Audit and External Audit deliverables.
  • Collation of Annual Budgeting Process within the group of companies.
  • Register review of Fixed Asset Register within the group of companies.
  • Production Order cost monitoring and implementation of improved processes.
Key Competencies:

Education and Experience
  • Chartered Accountant (SA) is a requirement
  • Completed articles with an Auditing Firm
  • At least 2 years of post-article experience in a similar role
  • Experience in a Manufacturing environment
Interpersonal Skills
  • Good analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Understanding of business and financial acumen
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong administration and problem-solving skills
  • Good interpersonal and organizing skills
  • Ability to understand and deal with diverse cultures
