An exciting opportunity has become available at a leading financial services business for a financial manager who has managed a debtors team.

POSITION INFO:

An exciting opportunity has become available at a leading financial services business for a financial manager who has managed a debtors team.

The key purpose of the role is:
To lead the debtors team in executing efficiencies within the Finance Division. To drive automation. To ensure the chosen strategy is implemented within the departments under mandate and provide input into the overall strategy of the division.

Your responsibilities will include:

Management of the debtors'' team
Management of the debtors'' process including:
Conducting Revenue meetings (Agency and principal)
Ensuring adherence to revenue policy (provisions)
Managing the "suspense" - allocation, reduction, amount (value threshold), etc. Short-term to revise and rules for suspense allocations
Suspense reporting
Monthly "age-analysis" meetings & days: monitor and manage
Ensuring successful debt "pay-overs": especially over month-end meeting client deadlines
System improvements
Reporting to the board, Exco, and other FMs in the business

The requirements for the role are:
Completed BCom Accounting degree, BCom Accounting Honours preferable
5 years of accounting and financial management experience
Experience managing a debtors/accounts receivable team and process
Good understanding of the collections process ideally agency and principal collections
Ability to work in a highly automated, system-driven environment
Ability to work in a demanding, high energy, high-performance environment
