JOB SUMMARY:
Financial Manager - Midrand

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Qualifications & Experience:

vBcomm Accounting Honours Degree (preferred).

vAny other recognised Accounting qualification at the very minimum.

vMust have experience heading up BEE portfolio of an organisation.

vMinimum 10 years’ experience in Finance/ Accounting with a minimum of 5 years experience in the relevant role.

vKnowledge of SAGE or Accpac would be advantageous.

vExperience in the Manufacturing/ Plastics Industry is an added advantage.

vMust have intermediate computer skills on Microsoft Office especially on Microsoft Excel.

Key Outputs:

vPresent financial reports and resolutions to board members, shareholders and executives at formal meetings.

vUnderstand and ensure that the company complies to financial regulations and all statutory legislation / regulations, creating and maintaining financial policies and procedures for the company.

vAssist management in the formulation of its overall strategic direction with keen focus on improving BBBEE required scores.

vPlanning of annual financial audit including internal audits.

vPreparation of annual audit file. Managing the annual financial audit.

vManaging relationships with outside services for tax preparation, auditing, banking, investments, and other financial needs as necessary.

vEstablish internal controls and monitor effectiveness of these controls.

vStay up to date with technological advances and accounting software to be used for financial purposes.

vTrack the company''s financial status and performance to identify areas for potential improvement.

vForecast cash flow positions, related borrowing needs, and available funds for investment and to meet short term obligations, overseeing the extension of credit to customers.

vEnsure that sufficient funds are available to meet ongoing operational and capital investment requirements.

vUse hedging to mitigate financial risks related to the interest rates on the company''s borrowings, as well as on its foreign exchange positions.

vReview company bottlenecks and recommend changes to improve the overall level of company throughput.

vCreate additional analyses and reports as requested by management including processing of monthly journals and the company cashbooks.

vCompleting of company’s annual tax return, bi-annual provident tax return, IT14DS and calculating and submitting the VAT 201 forms.

vPreparation of company budgets, tracking of budgets to actual expenses and analysis of variances.

vPreparing of monthly management accounts.

vBe responsible for the management of ad hoc operational projects.
