A insurance underwriting conglomerate seeks an analytical and attentive Financial Manager to join their underwriting team based in Johannesburg West.

A insurance underwriting conglomerate seeks an analytical and attentive Financial Manager to join their underwriting team based in Johannesburg West.

In this role the purpose will be to provide direction to the underwriting department.

Duties include, but not limited to
Monthly management reporting
Monthly underwriting reporting
Management of underwriter income statement, balance sheet, cash flows and reconciliation
Preparation of budgets and forecasts
Internal and external audits
Staff management
Implementation and maintenance of internal financial controls
Ensure accuracy of the underwriting department
Maintain relationships with relevant stakeholders
Improve financial data reports by analysing results, variances, trends; and recommending actions for improvement
Maximize operational efficiency

The role requires an individual that is adaptable to changes in a growing organisation, detailed orientated with excellent communication skills and with good management skills

Education:
BCom in finance or accounting

Skills & Experience:
Completed SAIPA or SAICA articles and 1 year post article experience OR
3 to 4 years experience in similar position
Insurance underwriting experience is non-negotiable
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills is a non-negotiable
Strong management experience
Strong personality
Strong analytical skills
Ability to work in a highly pressured and fast paced environment
Team player
The role requires an individual that is adaptable to changes in a growing organisation, detail orientated and with the ability to work in a manual environment.
