JOB DESCRIPTION:

An innovative, leading vehicle insurance company is looking to add a Financial Manager (Underwriting) to their dynamic team based in Randburg.

The successful candidate’s duties include, but are not limited to:

Monthly management reporting
Monthly insurer underwriting reporting
Review and management of underwriter income statement, balance sheet, cash flows and reconciliations
Assist with preparation and maintenance of budgets and forecasts
Responsible for all internal and external audits
Staff management, motivation, and training
Maintain all internal financial controls
Ensure overall success, accuracy, and maintenance of the Finance Underwriting department
Maintain with underwriters and relevant stakeholders
Improve financial data reports by analysing results, monitoring variances, identifying trends, and recommending actions to management, team, and stakeholders
Maximize operational efficiency with a focus on key performance drivers and improve operating practices
Any other duties as assigned by the company from time to time

Education Requirements:

BCom in Accounting

Job Requirements and Skills:

Minimum 3 years’ experience in finance
Management experience will be beneficial
Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel
Experience in insurance (mandatory)
Adaptable to an ever-changing environment
Detail orientated with excellent analytical skills
Able to manage a team as well as work independently
