Financial Manager (expat role based in DRC)

POSITION INFO:

An international transport and logistics company is looking for a detail oriented Financial Manager to join their team in DRC.  This is a task oriented environment so the ideal candidate is someone who is willing to get their hands dirty and take initiative to deliver results.  The role will be based on a 9 weeks on and 3 weeks off rotation and will include benefits such as accommodation, flights and medical aid.  The role will include duties such as:

• Take ownership of the balance sheet, P&L and all technical accounting duties
• Review any query raised by DRC tax authorities
• Supervise Finance team and ensure that Financials procedures are strictly applied
• Analyse current and past financial data and performance
• Ensure timely monthly Finance reporting
• Ensure strict application of Finance procedures
• Prepare accurate and useful consolidated financial information for the shareholders 
• Explore investment opportunities, through extensive financial modelling and forecasting
• Establish and evaluate profit plans
• Identify trends in financial performance and providing recommendations for improvement
• Identify key risks within the group and prepare risk profile matrix with proposed solutions to minimize exposure.
• Coordinating with other members of the Group finance team as well as working closely with the individual company’s finance teams to review financial information and forecasts
• Providing financial models and forecasting for internal investments
• Provide creative alternatives and recommendations to reduce costs and improve financial performance.
• Consistently gain and update industry knowledge
• Any other duties that may be allocated from time to time

Job Experience & Skills Required:

Qualifications & Experience

• CA(SA)/ACCA/CIMA/CFA
• Big 4 experience
• 5 years’ experience in transport, supply chain, logistics or mining
• French would be beneficial
