Financial Manager / Group Accountant - Somerset West
POSITION INFO:
A dynamic and rapidly growing property investment group is seeking an experienced Financial Manager / Group Accountant to take ownership of the full financial function across multiple entities. This is a hands-on, high-impact role suited to a technically strong finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced, commercial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and mentor an accountant, providing technical accounting guidance and ensuring high-quality outputs.
- Review monthly management accounts for all entities within the group.
- Review VAT reconciliations and manage the submission of VAT201s via SARS e-Filing for approximately 11 entities.
- Prepare taxable income calculations, including deferred tax reconciliations.
- Oversee and submit provisional tax and income tax returns for all group entities.
- Ensure accurate cash flow management, balance sheet integrity, and financial compliance.
- Lead the preparation of annual audit packs and liaise with external auditors.
- Support the development of budgets, forecasts, and the consolidation of group financial results.
- Identify process improvements and implement strong financial controls.
Qualifications & Experience
- CA(SA) – Essential
- 2–5 years post-articles experience in a financial management or group accounting role.
- Strong technical proficiency in IFRS, tax, consolidations, and financial reporting.
- Experience managing multiple entities and high-volume financial processes.
- Exposure to the property or investment sector is advantageous but not essential.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong systems orientation.
