SUMMARY:
Financial/Operations Executive

POSITION INFO:

The incumbent will be responsible for all operational, finance and admin aspects of the organization and consequently involves planning, oversight and direct action to ensure that the business operates effectively and efficiently.

The incumbent will report to the CEO and be a member of the organization executive

The incumbent will initially be responsible for the following functions:

  1. Procurement
  2. Warehouse, contract packing and logistics
  3. Finance and administration
  4. Support services including IT and HR
  5. Sales and marketing

Education

  • Commercial qualification will be an advantage
  • 5+ years’ experience, in general management of which 3+ years need to have been in a senior management role

Performance Areas

  • Effective team leadership, internal and external stakeholder relationship management
  • Develop and implement a budgeting methodology for the business
  • Upgrade the forecasting methodology and ensure that the business has sufficient stock to meet customer expectations, while remaining within working capital targets
  • Design and implement upgraded business process structures which provides for effective operations, clear management information and risk mitigation within an expanding business. This must include continually improving systems, processes to improve the businesses ability to service its customers on a cost effective basis
  • Contribute to the development of practical and successful expansion strategies within current and new channels as well as in new jurisdictions as permitted by the expanded distribution agreement
  • Implement the necessary infrastructure and processes to support new sales channels and jurisdictions

Requirements

  •  Proven track record at executive level, including:
  1. Ability to develop strategic relationships
  2. Strong leadership skills – ability to provide leadership to a strong well-established team and maintain their motivation
  3. Strategic thinking skills
  4. Influencing and negotiation skills
  • Understanding of systems & process management, including the role of IT
  • Procurement, warehousing and logistics knowledge
  • Strong financial acumen and reporting skills essential
  • Sound people management skills, including knowledge of relevant SA legislation (LRA, etc)
  • Knowledge and understanding of internal and external benchmarking methods
  • Experience the health industry an advantage
