SUMMARY:

Looking for a skilled Fitter & Turner with 2-4 years of experience in precision engineering. Temp role based in Alberton Alrode South JHB - Eastern Suburbs.

POSITION INFO:

Job Purpose

To manufacture, assemble, and maintain precision-engineered components by performing fitting, turning, and machining operations to support the company’s production requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Perform fitting and turning tasks on components to meet engineering specifications.
Operate conventional lathes, milling machines, and other workshop equipment.
Interpret technical drawings, engineering sketches, and job specifications accurately.
Machine, assemble, and finish components to tight tolerances.
Inspect and measure completed parts using precision measuring instruments.
Assist in the repair, maintenance, and modification of mechanical components and equipment.
Work closely with engineering and production teams to meet deadlines.
Maintain workshop tools, machinery, and work areas in a safe, clean condition.
Adhere to all workplace health and safety requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

Trade Test Certificate: Fitter & Turner (essential).
Minimum 2-4 years’ experience in a precision engineering/manufacturing environment.
Strong machining background with experience in turning, milling, drilling, and grinding.
Knowledge of working with various metals and materials.
CNC machining experience (advantageous).

Skills & Competencies

Strong technical and mechanical aptitude.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
Attention to detail and accuracy in producing components.
Good problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Commitment to safety and quality standards.
